YOUR TOWN COUNCIL

Cwmaman Town Council, serving the vibrant communities of Garnant and Glanaman, was established in 1974 following the Local Government Act 1972. As one of the largest Town/Community Councils in the Amman Valley, we proudly represent over 4,500 residents.

Our Council is committed to enhancing community life, fostering sustainable development, and maintaining transparent governance. We focus on addressing local needs and ambitions, guided by the principles of community engagement and inclusivity.

What does Cwmaman Town Council do?

We take pride in managing and overseeing various places and services that are integral to the fabric of our community. Currently, these include:

  • Cwmaman Community Centre
  • Bwncws y Bannau (formerly Glanaman Resource Centre)
  • Neuadd Y Bannau (formerly the community hall/Workshop)
  • The Bowls Pavilion
  • Caffi Pafiliwn Café
  • 11 Recreational Parks

What we don’t do…..

A town council is not responsible for the following:

  • Roads/Highways/Planning
  • Waste/Rubbish Collections
  • Council Housing and Benefits
  • Education and Schools
