PARKS
Our community is proud to host 11 beautiful parks, each offering a variety of recreational activities for residents and visitors of all ages. These parks provide safe and enjoyable spaces where you can relax, play, and connect with nature.
We are fortunate to have an abundance of outdoor spaces and we invite you to make the most of these wonderful resources. Our small but dedicated team work hard to maintain these parks and keep them welcoming for everyone. Throughout the year, we host various events in our parks, bringing the community together for fun and celebration.

Parc Golwg Yr Aman Cwmaman Park
Cwmaman Park covers an area of 7.9 acres and is suitable for walking, family activities, and features sports facilities such as the Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), and a bowling green.
In addition to its natural scenery, this park also has a well-equipped playground. But the jewel in the crown is the Pafiliwn Café which is open to the public on a seasonal basis. The dog friendly café offers a range of refreshments and is a popular destination for walkers and cyclists traversing the
Aman Valley Cycleway.
Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 31 min to complete. This trail is great for hiking, mountain biking, and road biking.
One of the main features of the park is the home ground of the Amman United rugby team. It was here that Wales’ world-renowned rugby hero, Shane Williams, first honed his skills.



Penpound Park (Grenig)
Adjacent to Cwmaman AFC’s playing fields, Penpound Park attracts with its vibrant playground and access to the Amman Valley Cycleway, making it a favourite for families and cyclists alike.

The park is kitted out with a variety of children’s play equipment where parents can relax and enjoy a quiet retreat, just a few metres away from the busy A474 Cwmaman Road, Glanaman. The play area is surrounded by blue fencing ensuring the safety of the children within. Beyond the play area is an expansive grassed area that is ideal for children and young people to enjoy ball games and a friendly kick-about, honing their footballing skills.
Bryn Rhos Park
Located within the Parc Brynrhos housing estate, this small park provides a peaceful retreat with basic play equipment like swings and slides, surrounded by a secure fence, perfect for safe outdoor play.
Gelli Werdd Park
With its commanding position overlooking the valley below the 32 acres of parkland affords magnificent views of Glanaman and Garnant and the western fringe of the Brecon Beacons.
The park is served by two car parks, one at each end, and is ideal for walking dogs, cycling and family activities.
There is a tarmac path which you can stick to if it's raining and you want to stay clean. There are also a number of trails that criss-cross the woodland and a trail higher up the woodland that runs parallel to the tarmac. Adjacent to the car park on the eastern approach, there’s a well equipped children's play area.

Maes y Bedol Park
Tucked away in the corner of Maes y Bedol, this park offers a cosy and safe environment for parents with young children. It’s situated close to the Garnant Children’s centre and a short walk from Ysgol y Bedol.
Twyn Park
Small but perfectly formed, the Twyn Park is located on “Twyn Square” where the three roads, Highfield Road, Greenfield Road and Oakfield Road intersect. Filled with a range of popular children’s play equipment, the park is a popular destination for children and families in the Twyn Area.
Tircoed park
A little gem of a park hidden away at the rear of Tircoed Road Glanaman and alongside the former St Margaret’s Parish Church. The park is well kept and offers children a range of equipment in a safe and comforting semi-rural environment.
Bishops Road park
Located on a secluded spot overlooking Raven Park, Bishop Road park offers a range of equipment to amuse and entertain young children. It’s within easy walking distance of the Raven square which offers a rage of facilities including the village store, a Chinese Takeaway and the popular Raven public house.
Raven Flower Park
The jewel in the crown of Cwmaman’s parks is surely the Raven Park on the junction of Bishop Road and Cwmaman Road Garnant. You can wander round the park at your leisure, enjoying the sight of the seasonal flower beds, or just relaxing in one of the many benches scattered around the area. Why not spend a moment or two in quiet reflection, unwinding, relaxing and taking time for yourself in quiet seclusion. The park has been revived in recent months and work on restoring the park to its former glory is near completion. It will become a focal point for many of the Council’s events and outdoor activities throughout the year.
